HOTLAP DAY SUPPORTING VARIETY CHARITY WITH CMC MARKETS!
"Leading online trading platform, CMC Markets, has created an adrenalin-filled hot laps experience to celebrate of some of New Zealand’s most promising young sporting talent - uniting its partnerships with Variety - the Children’s Charity and 18-year-old racing prodigy Peter Vodanovich.
The day at Pukekohe Park Raceway saw Variety Gold Heart Scholars Beth Reid, Lovely Pulotu and David Hafoka Pulotu take a spin around the track with Vodanovich at the wheel, in a unique chance to experience the thrill of motorsport racing first-hand.
Beth, Lovely and David represent some of the country’s best young talent in their respective sporting fields, and, as recipients of the Gold Heart Scholarship, received up to $5,000 each to help them reach their full potential. Applications for the 2019 Gold Heart Scholarships are now open.
The day also offered an opportunity for Vodanovich, who recently took out fourth place in the 2018-19 Toyota 86 Championship, to share a few words of encouragement with the Scholars, further inspiring their dreams of representing New Zealand on the world sporting stage.
With only two years of experience, Vodanovich has racked up an impressive number of awards and accolades in that short time - and will this week be making the move across the Tasman after having graduated to the Australian Toyota 86 Series.
Chris Smith, General Manager at CMC Markets New Zealand, says, "Like Peter, Variety scholars are incredibly focussed on achieving their dreams. As one of the youngest and fastest rising motorsport stars New Zealand has ever produced, he’s a natural role model for other young Kiwis. We’re so glad the Variety scholars were able to meet Peter and hear his story - and wish Peter all the best as he continues to pursue his dream in Australia," says Smith.
Peter Vodanovich says, "I’m genuinely honoured to have the opportunity to inspire other young Kiwis to continue reaching for their dreams. CMC’s support has been critical to my success this season, as it will be to helping David, Lovely and Beth with achieving their dreams. Thanks to everyone who has supported me on my journey so far - here’s to the next stage."
Lorraine Taylor, Variety - the Children’s Charity CEO says, "We’re incredibly grateful to CMC Markets, not only for their financial support over the last 12 years as the founding sponsor of the Gold Heart Scholarship programme, but also for genuinely championing our kids with invaluable experiences like these."
