MECHANICAL ISSUES RUIN A HOPEFUL WEEKEND AT MANFIELD
4TH PLACE AND FASTEST LAP IN FEATURE RACE!
It was a positive end to a tough weekend. We struggled with speed from qualifying and could only manage a 6th and 9th. This continued in Race 1 as despite moving from 9th to 5th in the first two laps, lack of straight line speed and getting caught up in other incidents moved us to 8th.
Race 2 our mechanical problem only got worse, as again I got a good start and moved up to 4th off the line however we had no grunt due to an ignition coil fault causing us to move back to 10th and were 2nd slowest on the track.
We were able to fix the issue for the last race, starting 7th we managed to move up to 4th hunting down 3rd and we were the fastest car on the track. We are happy that we got the car fixed and were able to show the speed we should have had all weekend.
Despite this we have still been able to hold onto 4th overall in the championship. Hopefully luck is on our side at Hampton Downs for the final round of the Toyota 86 Championship.
Big thanks to my team, family, and sponsors for their support.
